What can I say???!!! The Homecoming/Alumni Night football game was FANTASTIC! There was standing room only in the stadium and it was so great to see so many people that we had not seen in so many years. There was so much electricity in the air - I guess that's what happened to cause the electricity problems at the start of the game!
For those who weren't able to make the game, we, the alumni of FHS, honored Tommy Loden for being the original voice of the Fultondale Wildcats! We gave him a plaque and alumni t-shirt listing his 27 years of devoted service to the school! He had no idea about what we were doing, so the shock on his face when Steve Slayton announced that we were honoring him was priceless! And to hear Tommy calling the game again for us felt like home.

My thanks to Bart (for the idea), to Sheri (for all of her help - without you this wouldn't have been possible), to Steve (for inviting Tommy to call the game with him) and to everyone who came on out to the game. Homecoming 2008 was truly a wonderful and special time!

The class of 1983 also went to O'Charley's after the game and I've loaded some photos under the group for their class.

THE FIRST ROUND OF SHIRTS ARE READY!! WOW!!! IF YOU ORDERED A SHIRT TO BE READY BY HOMECOMING, EXPECT TO HEAR FROM ME OR GO AHEAD AND CONTACT ME. I HAVE ALREADY BEGUN DISTRIBUTING THE SHIRTS AND HAVE EVEN TAKEN MORE ORDERS. IF YOU HAVE ASKED THAT I MAIL IT TO YOU, WATCH YOUR MAIL NEXT WEEK.

Have you ordered yours yet? The shirts are grey, with a navy wildcat over the left chest and the words "Fultondale Alumni" over the wildcat. On the back will be a 2 digit number representing the year you graduated, i.e. 85 for my shirt. The cost of the shirt is $20.00. This is a fund raiser for Fultondale High School, with all of the excess (after postage) going back to the school for Mrs. Williamon to use as she deems fit. Several of us wore our shirts to an away game and I took even more orders for shirts. While I cannot guarantee the new orders will be ready before homecoming, you can still place an order. The Class of '78 is having a reunion, but I'm not going to put that two digit number up .... YOU do the math. The reunion is scheduled for October 11th at the Fairfield Inn in Fultondale. The deadline for reservations has passed but I'm sure you guys are going to have a blast catching up with everyone!!
